LSU Names Anzilla Gilmore Associate Vice President for Facility & Property Oversight

LSU has named Anzilla Gilmore to the position of Associate Vice President for Facility & Property Oversight, which includes executive-level planning, policy development, and administrative oversight for the management of all capital assets and properties.

Gilmore currently serves as the Interim Associate Vice President of Facilities, Engineering & Planning (FEP) and FEP Diversity & Inclusion Program Director at Rice University, where she leads the design, renovation, and construction of new academic, administrative, student housing and dining, and auxiliary facilities and the maintenance of the existing 90+ buildings totaling over 6.75 million square feet and 285 acres of grounds located in the heart of Houston, Texas.

Gilmore has more than 23 years of experience in architecture, facilities planning, and project management, and is a registered architect in Texas. Prior to her extensive career at Rice University, she worked in Facilities Planning & Construction for the University of Houston System and in Architectural Services for Charles D. Gooden Consulting Engineers in Houston.

At LSU, Gilmore will serve as the chief advisor to the President, Executive Vice President & Provost, Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer, executive staff, and the Board of Supervisors on all facility and capital planning matters. She will report to Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer Kimberly Lewis.

She will also serve as a consultant for other LSU institutions across the state, helping to provide world-class spaces for scholarship in Louisiana,” Executive Vice President Lewis said.

Gilmore is a doctoral student in Leadership & Learning in Organizations at Vanderbilt University, earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Bachelor of Architecture from Prairie View A&M University, and a graduate certificate in Equity, Diversity & Inclusion from Boston College.

She will begin her position at LSU on September 1, 2023.
