As classes began for the fall semester on Monday, Aug. 15, LSU Law welcomed 211 first-year students to the Paul M. Hebert Law Center. The 1L class of students has a higher median average LSAT and undergraduate GPA when compared to last year’s first-year class.

In 2011, Front Yard Bikes in Baton Rouge began as a community bike shop with a simple focus on teaching participants of all ages how to fix and maintain bikes. Today, FYB (a 501c3) has evolved into a transformative force, teaching youth mechanics and workforce skills while promoting inclusivity, mentorship, recreation, and academic achievement through safe, free, after-school and summer programming.

LSU Law students John Arboleta and Angelle Boudreaux won the Fall 2022 Ira S. Flory Mock Trial Competition on Monday, Sept. 26, in the Robinson Court Room at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center.

Once again, LSU has brought in its most accomplished freshman class in university history, with an all-time high median GPA at 3.78, and an ACT composite of 25.5.

Louisiana State University will host the seventh Southeastern Conference Student Pitch Competition, as student entrepreneurs deliver their best presentations to a panel of judges on October 2-3.

LSU announced that it has been designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations, or CAE-CO, by the National Security Agency, or NSA. It's an honor shared among only 22 universities and colleges in the nation. Here, research students and alumni in the LSU cybersecurity program speak to the immediate impacts this recognition will have on them, on LSU and on Louisiana, where they all grew up.
