Conductor's Art

January 17-19, 2020

The Conductor's Art is a three-day conducting and teaching workshop that includes the opportunity to conduct the LSU Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, and Chamber Winds on selected repertoire with direct feedback and coaching. This year, we are excited to welcome Robert Carnochan, Jamie Nix, and Susan Lorette Dunn as our guest clinicians! Due to a limited number of available participant slots, applicants will send in a resume as well as a short (500 words) essay on why they would like to attend. There are also observer slots available.

Stately Oaks Band Festival

February 6-8, 2020

This multi-day honor band is designed for students grades 7-12. Students will participate in full band rehearsals as well as master classes and special sessions. This year we are excited to welcome Garry Green and Brad Kent as our guest high school clinicians and Pattie Roussel as our guest middle school clinician! Participants will also attend a special Collage Concert, featuring the LSU Department of Bands and School of Music, as well as perform a final concert on Saturday afternoon.

This is an opportunity for high school bands to travel to the LSU campus to perform their Concert Assessment program prior to the final assessment date. Ensembles and their directors will receive immediate feedback from the LSU Department of Bands faculty, as well as follow-up review.

Spend a Day With Tiger Band


The Golden Band from Tigerland hosts a "Spend A Day With Tiger Band" event, open to current 10th - 12th grade band students on eligible instruments, giving them the opportunity to perform in Tiger Stadium with the Tiger Band during the annual LSU Spring Football Game.

TALC Summer Camp


This leadership camp is geared to give high school students all of the skills necessary to return to their band programs ready to go for the coming year! This camp is designed for students looking to refine their leadership skills, colorguard work, and marching percussion fundamentals.

LSU Bands Summer Camp

TBD - Summer 2021

This is an intensive summer music camp for high school students with a wide range of experience. Students will study privately on their instrument, in concert rehearsal settings, as well as in chamber groups, working with accomplished professional faculty from the LSU School of Music.
