I am a proud graduate of Grambling State University. My college experience completely shaped me into who I am personally and professionally. A significant part of my identity is connected to my alma mater. It connects me to previous and future generations in my “village”. My social life and community involvement revolves around the bonds that I formed at GSU. My professional life is guided by the lessons that I learned in and outside of the classroom from faculty and staff that were invested in my success and treated me like family. I do this work so that I can contribute to students being successful and having the same affinity for LSU.

My inspiration

During her U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings on her nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was asked to name a one-word piece of advice for young people hoping to make an impact with their careers. She powerfully and succinctly stated “Persevere”.

In another life

If I didn’t have this job, I would be a CEO of a public relations or crisis management firm! (Think Olivia Pope from Scandal.)
