Amélie Byrom
Career Coach, E.J. Ourso College of Business
I do this work for many reasons, but most of all because this is a time when students get to explore their passions, interests, and skills, ultimately creating a career out of these combined factors. My role in this position is to champion students throughout their journey of career as they learn more about themselves and their relationship to career.
I find great joy in aiding others in their path to success, and seeing them ultimately achieve their goals is unlike any other. Working as a career coach allows me to walk step by step with many students and alumni through their journey and see the fruits of their labor. During my undergraduate years, I spent many semesters planning for the next step in my career and making a few pivots along the way with the guidance of wonderful mentors and career coaches. It is a great privilege that I am now able to step into this role and serve students in the same way that I was served during those exploratory years.
I find great joy in aiding others in their path to success, and seeing them ultimately achieve their goals is unlike any other.

A taste of Baton Rouge
My favorite thing to do in Baton Rouge is finding new places to eat! There are so many amazing local restaurants around town and it makes it fun to further explore Baton Rouge.
No doubt
My favorite word is "Indubitably" - too evident to be doubted; unquestionable... just like my love for Mike the Tiger.
You'd be surprised to know
I have had 2 eye surgeries on each eye! The first when I was 15 months old and the second when I was 13 years old, both to correct strabismus.
