Tutors
Tutors provide academic tutoring and supervision of students during the academic year and summer, provide leadership for assigned groups of students during program activities, and serve as role models. During the summer, residential and nonresidential positions are available. Summer schedules vary, but here are examples of a Residential and Non-Residential schedule. Summer Tutors work full time; it is generally not possible to take classes or hold another job while working as a summer tutor.
The academic year Saturday program operates from [8–4] p.m.
Educational Requirements: A high school diploma and at least a 2nd year college student. Two years of undergraduate coursework are required for summer positions.
Required Experience: 1–2 years as an academic tutor or summer camp counselor, demonstrated leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills and an understanding of the needs of a diverse urban youth population.
Compensation: Tutors are paid $[ ]/hour. In the summer tutors are compensated for [ ] hours/week.
