Julie Hupperich
Executive Director
A self-proclaimed foodie and science buff, I chose to study nutrition and was lucky
to be introduced to college health and wellness as a graduate student at LSU. After
a brief stint as a clinical dietitian in hospital settings, I returned to a position
at the LSU Student Health Center, created as a result of my research, and have worked
in progressive leadership roles for almost 25 years.
It's rewarding to impact students at a critical time in their development and support them in establishing health habits that will last a lifetime. While dedication to academics is key to retention and success, I believe it is also determined by engagement outside the classroom and investment in the dimensions of wellness.

Causes I'm passionate about
I'm passionate about access to education, prevention work, and multiple sclerosis research.
A love for celebration
I grew up in Ville Platte, a small, rural town in the heart of Acadiana, where I developed a strong sense of community and a love for celebration. I believe many in the LSU community identify with those attributes, one of the reasons I love working on campus.
What's brewing
My investment in coffee is substantial and only pales in comparison to my investment in students.
