Opportunities for Recent College Graduates in Evolutionary Biology Research

Are you a recent college graduate with a passion for evolutionary biology?

The Louisiana Graduate Network in Applied Evolution (LAGNiAppE) training program invites you to join an active community of mentors and co-mentors to develop skills and gain valuable research experience in the field of evolutionary biology. Our program for the 2024-2025 academic year offers an exciting opportunity to further your career and contribute to scientific advancement.

Program Dates: July 8, 2024, to July 3, 2025

Benefits

Stipend and Health Insurance: Participants will receive a stipend of $34,050 and access to health insurance coverage.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or permanent residents of the United States.

Educational Background: Participants should hold a Bachelor's degree, although completion of the degree is not necessary at the time of application. They must be within four years of their graduation date, with allowances for extensions in case of family, medical leave, or military service.

Graduate Enrollment: Individuals currently enrolled in a graduate program are not eligible to apply.

Diversity and Inclusion: Preference will be given to applicants from backgrounds that are underrepresented in STEM fields.

Research Experience: While prior research experience is not mandatory, preference may be given to applicants with limited or no past research experience.

Interest in Evolutionary Biology: No formal familiarity with evolutionary biology is required, but a genuine curiosity and interest in the subject matter are desirable.
