More Than 900 Degrees to be Awarded at LSU’s Summer Commencement on Friday, Aug. 13

decorated mortar boardMore than 900 students are expected to graduate during LSU’s 305th commencement ceremonies on Friday, Aug. 13, in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. LSU President William F. Tate IV will deliver the keynote address.

LSU will hold two ceremonies for this record-setting class on Aug. 13 – one beginning at 8 a.m. for graduate students and another beginning at 11 a.m. for undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students. Both ceremonies will be livestreamed. More information and links to watch the livestreams are available at https://lsu.edu/celebration. 

During the ceremonies, “The Star-Spangled Banner” and LSU Alma Mater will be performed by Michael Hendrick, candidate for Doctor of Musical Arts. Interim Executive Vice President & Provost Matt Lee will provide opening remarks, while Tate will deliver the keynote address. LSU Board of Supervisors Chair Robert Dampf will confer degrees.
