CLEAR Gulf
Project Outcomes
A proactive framework to address pressing informational needs of coastal residents, before decarbonization projects are presented.
Increased capacity among community stakeholders to participate more effectively and with confidence in planning for energy transition projects.
A straightforward project evaluation plan. The development of these models and the early stages of focus group engagement will provide meaningful milestones. The development of models and descriptions of innovative technical data, such as real-time monitoring, will seek to be responsive and interactive with community input. Through an iterative process of community input and model and data response we will be able to monitor program effectiveness in real time.
Generalizable research findings regarding specific decarbonization technologies, science communication, and public attitudes surrounding energy transition strategies.
Additional Innovative Project Outcomes
Novel teaching tools:
Hypothetical cases and simulations, to be developed and tested in communities not under consideration for current decarbonization investments.
Novel partnerships and programs:
- Louisiana Community Colleges; LSU and SU Extension Services
- New LSU “Energy Transition Leaders Conference”; Graduate Certificate; Annual Symposium
- Stakeholders in selected communities: Parish officials; Chambers of Commerce; Environmental group leaders
