Campus-Wide Lagniappe Internship Fund

Geaux after that internship opportunity with the help of the Lagniappe Internship fund!

The Campus-Wide Lagniappe internship fund aims to reduce financial barriers LSU students may face when presented with out of state or unpaid internships. No student should pass up a career opportunity because of living expenses, travel or unpaid opportunities.

Information about the Lagniappe Internship Fund

To be eligible for the Campus-Wide Lagniappe Internship Fund, you must:

  • Be a full time LSU student, undergraduate and graduate students both eligible
  • Must be engaged in or have a written offer for an internship

A variety of internships will be considered for funding, including:

  • Paid and unpaid positions
  • Local and out-of-state positions
  • Internships can be for academic credit, but this is not required

Funding through this program is made available to support travel and living expenses (such as housing, food, and travel expenses) while completing an internship. This support enables students to participate in unpaid or low-paid opportunities. Award funding is not provided in place of compensation for work. Students are responsible for finding an internship and covering expenses outside the value of the award.

The award amount varies and is determined by a selection committee based on available funds and a student’s demonstrated need.

Apply at https://lsu.academicworks.com/opportunities/26279. The application will require you to upload a copy of your internship offer letter, complete a budget worksheet, and describe how the internship will impact your career goals.

Knowing that students accept internships throughout the Spring semester, scholarships will be awarded in 3 phases for Summer 2023 internships.

Phase 1 application deadline is February 3, 2023

Phase 2 application deadline is March 3, 2023

Phase 3 application deadline April 7, 2023
