Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program dedicated to helping eligible LSU students achieve academic success, persist to graduation, and make the most of their college experience.
Through academic counseling, tutoring support, financial literacy education, career development, and personalized guidance, SSS provides students with the tools and resources needed to thrive at LSU.
Who We Serve
✔ First-Generation College Students
Students whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) have not earned a four-year bachelor's degree.
✔ Pell Eligible Students
Students who demonstrate financial need and qualify for federal Pell Grant assistance.
✔ Students with Disabilities
LSU students who are registered with Disability Services and who would benefit from additional support and resources throughout their academic journey.

LSU Student Support Services is comprised of three federally funded TRIO grants, each designed to support specific student populations and promote academic success, retention, and graduation.
While each program serves a unique group of students, all three grants share a common mission: providing individualized support, academic resources, and opportunities that empower students to achieve their educational and professional goals.

Established through the Higher Education Act of 1965, TRIO programs provide support, resources, and opportunities that empower students to persist, graduate, and pursue their future goals. Student Support Services is one of eight TRIO programs serving students across the nation.
