I am an educator by training and by heart. I love solving problems and seeing people succeed. Working in operations at the Student Health Center allows me the opportunity to do both. As a center, we work together to create an atmosphere where students feel safe to be seen and seek care. I’m incredibly proud of the work that we do and the changes we can make in students’ lives.

Right at home, from day one

Tiger Stadium is my favorite spot on campus. Hands down. On my first visit to LSU, my family walked around campus to see if we could see ourselves joining the Tiger family. Immediately, when we stood in front of the stadium, we knew that we had found our home and we could not wait until we could be part of something bigger than us. Over five years later, we have experienced beating Alabama, seeing Garth shake the stadium, and helping with the first-year pictures for all our new Tigers. Geaux Tigers!

Supporting children through and beyond a parent's cancer

Camp Kesem is a deeply important organization for my family because I am a two-time survivor and all three of my kids have been able to attend over the years. Camp Kesem serves as an amazing camp for kids aged 6-18 whose parents have or have had cancer. What makes it so special is that the kids get to be kids and meet others with similar worries and experiences. Between gaga ball, camp songs, empowerment, and messy games, it has my heart.

Bet on yourself

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is, “Why not you?”

While I cannot remember when I first heard this, it deeply resonates with me. When faced with self-doubt or concern about what is next, the phrase “why not you” has empowered me to take chances, hold onto hope, and dream bigger than my seven-year-old self could have imagined.
