Happy Holidays from President Tate

December 22, 2021

Dear LSU Community,

As we look forward to celebrating the holidays with friends and family, I want to take a moment to say how thankful I am to be a part of this university community. Each of you represents a gift to my life, and I continue to be impressed with the way the Tiger spirit shines through even in the most difficult of times. You serve one another with care and kindness.

Holidays offer an opportunity to reflect on our beliefs and values, while engaging others with empathy and renewed compassion. It is a special time to hold close that which is important to you. I know that this year I’ll be holding close our university and all of the incredible students, faculty and staff that make LSU what it is. I thank each of you for your contributions; with you, LSU is distinctive and special.

I hope each of you has the opportunity over this holiday season to relax, spend time with the people you love, and reflect on what it is that you hold close. I’m looking forward to accomplishing great things together in the new year.

Wishing you all a safe, peaceful and joyous holiday season,

William F. Tate IV

LSU President
