Pathway to Physician Assistant School

  1. Select any major at LSU
  2. Take the necessary pre-requisite courses for your desired PA school (ex: LSU Health New Orleans, LSU Health Shreveport)
  3. Maintain a high GPA, especially in science-related coursework (3.0 minimum, 3.5+ recommended)
  4. Prep for and take the GRE (recommended 153 verbal score, 144 quantitative score, and 3.5 analytical writing score)
  5. Earn a minimum of 80 hours of direct patient contact under the supervision of a licensed medical professional, preferably a physician or physician assistant
  6. Earn a bachelor's degree
