January 31, 2023

BATON ROUGE, LA – The College of Engineering named its most recent McLaughlin Award medalist at the Fall 2022 Diploma Ceremony, and the semester’s recipient was Kyle Kirkpatrick, a computer science major and chemistry minor from Prilep, North Macedonia.

He is the son of Kyle and Jacqueline Kirkpatrick. During his time at LSU, Kirkpatrick was part of the LSU Baptist Collegiate Ministry and a six-time member of the President’s Honor Roll, as well as a recipient of the S&B Engineers and Constructors Scholarship, among other scholarships and awards.

Following his graduation, Kirkpatrick hopes to take his career overseas and help develop software systems in less technologically-developed countries.

About the McLaughlin Medal
