Introduction to Engineering (Grades 9-12)
Intro to Engineering will introduce you to the profession, ethics, and diversity of
the field of engineering. You will receive a mailed learning kit of supplies for 15
hands-on projects relating to 10 different fields of engineering. Throughout the course,
you will interact virtually with an instructor, teaching assistants, and your peers
to learn about each discipline and work on projects. This experience will allow you
to explore the differences between each engineering discipline and help you make more
informed decisions about future elective choices in high school and selecting your
Cost: $870 for 3 weeks
Multicultural Engineering Tigers (Grades 10-12)
This real-time program gives high school students the chance to discover how engineers
solve problems and explore multiple engineering disciplines through faculty-led presentations
and activities that students perform at home in virtual groups coached by LSU engineering
students. Each student will receive a kit with materials and a list of common supplies
needed to complete the activities. This online camp replaces the traditional Recruiting
Into Engineering High-Ability Multicultural Students, or REHAMS, camp.
Exploring STEM (Grades 6-8)
Join us virtually this week as we introduce you to a variety of cutting-edge STEM
fields. Utilizing Zoom, students will access virtual instruction and participate in
hands-on activities, to design, build, and present projects. Registration includes
a mailed learning kit containing all supplies for the course.
Programming in Python (Grades 9-12)
Programming in Python is designed to provide high school students with an in-depth intro to the world of computer programming. You will cover the basic concepts, algorithms, and data structures necessary to build real applications with Python, a powerful yet easy-to-learn language. Through a bird’s-eye view of the field of computer science, you will be exposed to a breadth of topics which are ubiquitous in today’s tech industry.

Halliburton Women in Engineering Introduction to Engineering (Females Grades 9-11)
This online version of the Halliburton XCITE 2020 engineering summer camp is focused
on providing rich experiences for motivated high school women who will interact with
female role models and engineers. This real-time program gives participants the chance
to express their creativity and explore multiple engineering disciplines through LSU
faculty-led presentations and activities that are performed in virtual groups coached
by LSU women engineering students. Each student will receive a materials kit needed
to complete the activities.
Coding Camp (Grades 10-12)
Do you want to get a head start learning about computer science and programming? Computer science is one of the fastest-growing fields in today’s job market. It plays a crucial role in our IT infrastructure, supporting all kinds of applications from scientific computing to engineering, from game development to social media, from business administration to healthcare, and within many other domains. In this camp, you will learn problem-solving skills in programming using Python and key concepts in major areas of computer science (such as algorithms, data analytics, visualization, artificial intelligence, robotics, and cybersecurity). All participants will receive a kit that includes a coding book and other materials.
