Reservation Policy

M&DA Building School of Theatre Rehearsal Space Reservation System

Spaces in the M&DA Building are available for use by theatre majors only. Priority for use:  Swine Palace productions; LSU Theatre mainstage; LSU Lab Series; class assignments.  With the exception of the Undergraduate Rehearsal Space (room 399), graduate students have priority over undergraduates. The Dance Studio will be closed during studio theatre performances

Spaces are available from 8:00 am to 11 pm Monday through Friday, and from 12 noon to 6 pm on weekends.  Spaces will not be available on game days, holidays, or when there are no building monitors present.*

*Graduate students have open access as needed

Rooms can be reserved in two-hour blocks.

Lab productions - Please reserve spaces directly through Chris Wood (Email Chris Wood).
The Theatre Technology/Design Lab (Room 181) is open for all to use without a reservation. You must still check in with the building monitor (room 195).

All other reservation requests must be made in an email to the Theatre Office (Email Theatre Office) after checking the Room Schedule for availability (the room reservation link is only accessible on-campus or via VPN.)

All requests will be filled by priority on a first-come, first-served basis. Please include:

  • Your name
  • Space needed
  • Times needed
  • Purpose of the reservation.

When your reservation is filled, your name will be posted on the departmental Room Schedule (this link is only accessible on-campus or via VPN.)

If your reservation is during regular business hours (M-F 8:00am – 4:30pm) come to the main office for room access. After business hours, check in at room 195 for entry. You will be required to show your LSU Student ID with the building monitor before your space is unlocked.  All personal belongings, props, set pieces, and trash must be removed at the end of your time.  No exceptions.

Please remember that space usage is a privilege, and as such, we expect that each space will be treated with care and consideration.
