The School of Theatre is dedicated to preparing students of all identities for professional and academic careers in arts and cultural industries. Providing an inclusive learning environment as key to a well-rounded humanities education, we offer a variety of degrees and concentrations that encourage students to tailor their training to their creative and scholarly passions. Our programming commits to spotlighting topical issues, celebrating shared social values, and exploring humanity. LSU Theatre Presents

rachel

LSU proudly presents Angelina Weld Grimké's influential classic, Rachel, about the harsh truths of racial prejudice. Published in 1920, Grimké hoped that Rachel would educate audiences, particularly white audiences, about the devastating psycological effects of racism as well as the inhumanity of lynching.

Eric Lau Named Dean

Alumnus Returns to Baton Rouge

LSU has named alumnus Eric Lau the Dean of the College of Music & Dramatic Arts, effective July 1. Lau currently serves as Dean of both the Honors College and the University College at the University of New Mexico. Lau graduated summa cum laude from LSU with a bachelor’s degree in music and was a member of The Golden Band from Tigerland.

LSU Cares

LSU Cares is a university initiative dedicated to the well-being of students and promotion of a community that cares about each of its members. Using a CARE (Communicate, Assess, Refer, Educate) approach, staff review reports and provide appropriate resources in response. LSU Cares works with students to empower them to help students of concern and engage with victim support and advocacy resources.
