Ourso College Recognizes Top Undergraduate Students

BATON ROUGE – Eight high-achieving business students have been selected as the 2026 Ourso Outstanding Eight, the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business' most prestigious undergraduate honor recognizing excellence in academics, leadership, professional development and service.
The 2026 Ourso Outstanding Eight honorees are María Anzola of Valencia, Venezuela; Fernando Cárcamo Soler of La Ceiba, Honduras; Chloe Chehardy of Mandeville, Louisiana; Christen Chehardy of Mandeville, Louisiana; Alexander Doga of Lafayette, Louisiana; Mekhi Glover of Rockford, Illinois; Macy McCalip of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Svenya Stoyanoff of Bath, Louisiana.
“Throughout their time at LSU, these students have demonstrated exceptional determination, leadership and intellectual curiosity,” said Russell Crook, dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business. “Their accomplishments reflect the high standards of excellence that define the Ourso College and the strength of our academic community. I have every confidence that they will continue to make meaningful contributions in their careers and beyond.”
María Anzola is a senior majoring in international trade and finance with a minor in energy. She is a member of the Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College, where her thesis explores macroeconomic factors that influence cross-country investment patterns in the energy sector. Anzola has completed internships with Varadero Capital and Brooklyn Capital Partners, contributing to due diligence, financial modeling and deal execution across complex credit and private equity transactions focused on energy and industrials. She co-founded the Future Forward Foundation, a nonprofit that provides microfinancing to underrepresented communities, and was recently appointed as its CEO. Anzola's campus activities include the Asset Management Academy and Women in Business. She serves as secretary of the LSU Sports Club Advisory Council, helping manage a $100K budget, and as president of the LSU Powerlifting Team, leading fundraising, increasing membership and representing the school at national competitions. Following graduation, she will launch her career at Brooklyn Capital Partners.

Fernando Cárcamo Soler is majoring in international trade and finance with a concentration in empirical economic analysis. Admitted through the LSU Global program and member of the Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College, Cárcamo has earned academic honors while serving as a supplemental instructor and tutor in economics, accounting, math, French and Spanish. His global perspective expanded during a semester abroad, when he completed an economics and management program at Aix-Marseille Université in France. Cárcamo's professional experience includes internships at Southwestern Advantage, where he generated significant sales revenue, and Seaport Global Holdings. His campus and community contributions include serving as an LSU Global Ambassador, an international orientation leader and a translator for the Our Lady of the Lake Medical Brigade. Following a second internship with Southwestern Advantage, he plans to pursue a graduate degree with an ultimate goal of applying his knowledge to strengthen trade opportunities and economic development in Honduras and Central America.

Chloe Chehardy, a finance major with a minor in entrepreneurship, has gained analytical skills and understanding of financial markets, public policy and law through coursework and experiential learning. She interned with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, State Representative Mark Wright, Gratium Wealth Planning and Carson Shobe Financial. At LSU, she is the service coordinator for Beta Alpha Psi and former hospital chair for Phi Mu, leading philanthropic efforts with Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital and the Children's Miracle Network. She started a financial literacy initiative with Campus Federal Credit Union to help community members build stronger financial habits. Chehardy will earn a medal for her community service through the LSU Engaged Citizen Program. She studied abroad in South Africa and Florence, and has been on the President’s and Dean’s list, earning scholarships from the E. J. Ourso College of Business, Halliburton and her sorority. After graduation, she will move to Dallas to work as a financial consulting analyst.

Senior entrepreneurship major and biological sciences minor Christen Chehardy will begin her studies at the LSU School of Medicine in August. She works as a medical assistant at Pediatric Cardiology of Louisiana at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital. Chehardy has experience from three other medical practices and was a research assistant studying infant motor development at LSU. On campus, she is president of the Brain Exercise Initiative, focusing on service, research, and awareness for individuals with Alzheimer's. She served as vice president of finance for Delta Gamma, managing its multimillion-dollar budget. Chehardy will earn a medal for her community service through the LSU Engaged Citizen Program. Her achievements include President's List recognition and scholarships from E. J. Ourso College of Business and her sorority. She's a member of the Order of Omega and studied in South Africa. Her goal is to use her degrees in medicine and entrepreneurship to launch her own practice.

Alexander Doga is a senior business analytics major with a minor in biological sciences. He complements his coursework in predictive analytics, statistical analysis and database management with extensive experience in healthcare. He has worked in multiple clinical settings, including pediatric cardiology, primary care and emergency medicine. Last summer, Doga served as a business operations and product analytics intern at StenoHealth, partnering with the CEO on strategic initiatives and competitive intelligence for AI-driven healthcare products. His leadership with Rock for Reclaimed, raising $100,000 for children's programs in Baton Rouge and Africa, and involvement in LSU's Narrative Medicine Cohort reflect his commitment to improving healthcare access through data-informed, human-centered solutions. Following graduation, he plans to complete a one-year MBA program in healthcare administration before starting medical school.

Macy McCalip is majoring in accounting with minors in internal auditing and history. A Stamps Scholar and member of the Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College, she has demonstrated academic excellence across disciplines through undergraduate research, participation in the LSU Center for Internal Auditing & Cybersecurity Risk Management and a study abroad experience at the University of Oxford. She also served as AI project manager for the LLM Development and Deployment for Business course. McCalip previously served as vice president of finance and housing for Pi Beta Phi. She is active in Beta Alpha Psi and community service with organizations such as the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity. Professionally, she completed a rotational internship with Varadero Capital in New York, supporting teams across finance, legal and compliance, commercial real estate and specialty finance. This summer, she will further her experience as an internal audit intern with JPMorgan Chase.

Mekhi Glover is a junior majoring in accounting and finance. He is gaining experience as a tax intern with Mauldin & Jenkins and as an incoming Embark Scholar intern at KPMG, enhancing his technical skills and understanding of professional practice. On campus, Glover serves as a resident assistant with LSU Residential Life. He is vice president of the LSU Economics and International Trade Finance Club. His involvement with the Black Male Leadership Initiative, the National Association of Black Accountants and the African American Cultural Center reflects his dedication to leadership and service. Glover is also a member of the Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College. After graduation, he plans to earn the CPA credential and eventually establish an accounting firm that uses technology to better serve clients and communities.

Senior accounting major Svenya Stoyanoff will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in German. As a member of the LSU women’s cross country and track and field team, she balances the demands of Division I athletics with a strong academic record that includes multiple SEC Honor Roll honors. She has strengthened her leadership and communication skills as a representative on the LSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving as a liaison between student-athletes and the athletic administration. Professionally, Stoyanoff completed an accounting and finance internship with Hornbeck Offshore Services and gained data analysis experience with the LSU Athletics Ticket Office. She is also a member of Beta Alpha Psi, volunteers with local nonprofits and has completed a study abroad experience in Germany. Following graduation, she will complete an accounting internship with BMW in South Carolina before starting her Master of Accounting at Washington University in St. Louis.

The Ourso Outstanding Eight is an annual award program celebrating undergraduate excellence in the E. J. Ourso College of Business. Honorees demonstrate success in at least two of the following categories: academics, leadership, professional development and campus/community service. To be considered, students must complete a formal application process and meet a series of eligibility requirements, including being admitted to the E. J.
