Welcoming Our Newest Faculty Members to the E. J. Ourso College of Business

The LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business is pleased to welcome a diverse group of new
faculty members for the 2025-2026 academic year. These additions bring specialized
expertise to the college across various fields, including finance, management, and
information systems.
"We are incredibly excited to welcome this outstanding group of educators to LSU,"
said T. Russell Crook, dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business. "Their collective
experience in research and industry strengthens our ability to deliver a world-class
business education to our students, equipping them with the essential skills for lifelong
success."

Shuhao Ren
Assistant Professor, Department of Finance
Shuhao Ren's research focuses on asset pricing, investments, news and social media,
short selling, and market microstructure. He is currently investigating the return
predictability of firm characteristics over various horizons, and how investors process
information from different sources and its impact on financial markets. He earned
a PhD in Finance from Arizona State University.
"I’m excited to join LSU for both its strong academic environment and its vibrant
campus culture. As a finance researcher and educator, I look forward to engaging with
motivated students and helping them connect classroom concepts with real-world financial
challenges."

Andrew MacKinlay
Assistant Professor, Department of Finance
Andrew MacKinlay comes to LSU after teaching appointments at Virginia Tech and Southern
Methodist University. His work has appeared in leading journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial Economics, and Management Science. He received both his PhD and MA in Finance from The Wharton School at the University
of Pennsylvania.
"I am excited to join LSU! In my free time, I like to cycle, play hockey, and travel
with my family."
John Lajaunie joins LSU after more than 30 years of instruction at Nicholls State
University, most recently as a Professor of Finance. His teaching interests include
commercial banking, in particular community banks, as well as financial statement
analysis, managerial/corporate finance, and international finance.
Research Interests
Commercial banking (community banks), investments, international finance, retirement
planning
Hisan Yang
Assistant Professor, Rucks Department of Management
Hisan Yang's research focuses on how firms leverage both monetary and non-monetary
incentives to attract and motivate employees. Additionally, he investigates how managers
navigate complex, highly interconnected strategic choices. Yang earned a PhD in Entrepreneurship
and Strategy from the University of Utah.
Assistant Professor, Stephenson Department of Entrepreneurship & Information Systems
Yusi Ma's research focuses on the dark side of technology, including AI risks, misuse
of AI, and cybersecurity. Her work has appeared in refereed academic journals, including
MIS Quarterly, AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interaction, and conference proceedings
such as AMCIS. She received her PhD in Management Information Systems from Florida
International University.

AI fairness, AI risks, information security, human-computer interaction
