November 16, 2022

LSU Executive Education announced that it is launching a new Certified Public Manager Program beginning in February 2023. The Certified Public Manager (CPM) program is a nationally accredited, comprehensive leadership development program specifically designed to prepare individuals for careers in federal, state, and local government, and in other organizations with a public or not-for-profit purpose.

“As the sole provider of the Certified Public Manager program within the state of Louisiana, LSU Executive Education is honored to be part of developing and preparing our state’s government and non-profit leaders to better serve our state and local communities.  Individuals completing the 300-hour program will receive a Public Manager Certificate from Louisiana State University,” added Executive Education Director Michelle Boullion.

This CPM program is a seven-session series, where participants can earn the nationally accredited public manager certification in 12 months for $1075 per session. The following components make up the required 300 hours of education and activity needed to obtain the CPM designation:

  • Seven in-class learning session – each session consists of three days of face-to-face and hybrid online learning
  • Homework, readings, competency assignments (12 hours per professional competency)
  • Capstone Project (48 hours of individual work)

Throughout the program, participants are given the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to become successful managers in the workplace. Professional competencies covered in this CPM program include personal and organizational integrity, managing work, leading people, developing self, systematic integration, public service focus, and change leadership.
