October 25, 2022

LSU Health Shreveport students and staff are getting closer to moving into a brand-new $84 million, 155,000-square-foot facility. Gov. John Bel Edwards, who toured the facility recently, says it will be a game changer.

“That’s what this LSU Center for Medical Education and Emerging Viral Threats is. It is a critical investment for our future,” Edwards said. “We don’t want to just have a medical school in Shreveport; we want to have the best medical school in Shreveport.”

LSU Health Shreveport is educating and training the next generation of health care professionals and scientists who will continue a proud legacy of innovative and lifesaving healthcare and cutting-edge medical research.
