BATON ROUGE – LSU President Dr. Wade Rousse has named Dr. Brandi Bush Roberts to serve as Chief Financial Officer of the LSU System, effective immediately. Roberts most recently served as associate vice president and chief of staff for finance and administration at Louisiana State University.
“Dr. Roberts is a proven, mission-driven leader with the technical expertise and steady judgment required to help guide the LSU System’s financial future,” President Rousse said. “Her record of service and her commitment to transparency and accountability will strengthen our ability to invest strategically in our campuses, our people, and our statewide impact.”
Reporting directly to the President, Roberts will provide strategic leadership and oversight of financial operations across the LSU System. In addition, she will direct systemwide operating and capital budget development and support system-level reporting required by state and federal agencies, working closely with campus chief financial officers and partners across the LSU enterprise.
Roberts brings more than two decades of leadership experience in higher education finance, administration, and enterprise operations. As chief of staff to LSU’s executive vice president for finance and administration, she supported enterprise-wide financial planning and resource alignment for LSU’s $3.6 billion all-funds budget and led initiatives to strengthen financial systems and data integrity. Through strategic partnerships with global insurers, she also helped secure a $1.5 million reduction in university-wide property insurance premiums.
Earlier in her career, Roberts spent more than a decade leading financial operations for LSU Auxiliary Services, overseeing capital projects, contract compliance, and multi-year financial modeling for units generating more than $30 million annually. She also worked in public accounting with KPMG and has taught accounting at Southeastern Louisiana University.
“I’m honored by President Rousse’s confidence and grateful for the opportunity to serve the LSU System in this capacity,” Roberts said. “Our responsibility is to steward public resources with integrity, transparency, and strategic intent. I look forward to partnering with our campuses and divisions to strengthen operational excellence, support student success, and position LSU for continued growth and impact.”
Roberts earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from LSU, a Master of Science in Accounting (Taxation), and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the College Business Managers Institute (CBMI) through the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO).
