In its second year, this event highlights the exceptional academic, creative, and research accomplishments of faculty from all eight LSU institutions over the last academic year. This award is very selective, with a goal of highlighting the exceptional stature of our collective faculty in their respective fields while celebrating success and encouraging aspiration among peers.

The following faculty were honored:

  • Leanne Redman- the TOPS Achievement Award, the Obesity Society (unable to attend)
  • Tina Harris- National Communication Association’s Distinguished Scholar
  • Peter Clift- Lyell Medal, Geological Society of London (unable to attend)
  • George Voyiadjis- Blaise Pascal Medal 2023 in Engineering

Potential honorees are considered by nomination only, with final selection made via vote by the body of Boyd Professors, with highest consideration placed on the merit of selectivity and exclusivity of the award.

The rank of LSU Boyd Professor is the highest and most prestigious academic rank at LSU that is awarded to faculty who have achieved national or international recognition for outstanding research, teaching and achievements.

Also in attendance were the LSU Board of Supervisors, 2023 honorees and their families, 2022 honorees, deans, President’s cabinet and leadership representatives from across campuses.
