LSU Names Danny Barrow Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success

BATON ROUGE – Danny Barrow has been selected to serve as LSU’s Permanent Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success, pending approval by the LSU Board of Supervisors. Barrow has been serving as the Interim Vice President since March.

In the permanent role, Barrow will continue to lead recruiting and retention efforts that attract the best and brightest students who will succeed in the classroom and beyond, continuing to elevate LSU’s academic profile.

Since joining LSU in 2017 as the Director of Admissions, Barrow has helped the University set records in academic quality with consecutive record-breaking freshman classes.

“Danny’s leadership is the perfect fit for our university’s never-ending pursuit of academic excellence,” President Tate said. “Over the last six years, his ability to strategically elevate the academic composition of our incoming class while ensuring existing students maintain their progress toward graduation has produced undeniable results, and we look forward to seeing the impact his work has on future cohorts.”

As the Vice President, Barrow will oversee several departments including The University College, Center for Academic Success, Undergraduate Admissions, Office of the University Registrar, Financial Aid & Scholarships, Future Scholars Program, Transition & Student Success, University Testing & Evaluation, Student Support Services, Roland E McNair Scholars, and Enrollment Operations, Data, and IT.

Barrow’s passion is to positively contribute to the nation’s education system and directly influence the participation and graduation rates of students at top tier universities. Inspired by his own journey as a first-generation college student and Pell Grant recipient, he is dedicated to serving students and ensuring success.

Throughout his career, Barrow has held a variety of enrollment positions at universities of all types, including flagships, a regional comprehensive public institution, and a private urban university. He has consistently achieved record-breaking results, enrolling the most highly accomplished students in the history of each university.

Over the last six years, Barrow has progressively advanced in roles in Enrollment Management, leading teams to achieve unprecedented outcomes through strategic data, analysis, implementation of best practices and extensive research.

Barrow received a master’s degree in higher education administration from LSU and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The George Washington University. In addition, he has completed the esteemed College Board’s Enrollment Leadership Academy, further enhancing his expertise in the field.
