LSU Giving Day 2023 is March 29, Aims for 5,000 Donors by Midnight

5th Annual Virtual Event is Co-hosted by Seven LSU Campuses
BATON ROUGE – Wednesday, March 29, is LSU Giving Day 2023, a virtual fundraising event co-hosted by seven LSU campuses online at geauxgive.lsu.edu. LSU Giving Day 2023, themed Bold Steps Forward, prioritizes advancing LSU’s Scholarship First Agenda by encouraging support for scholarships, research and strategic initiatives.
Gifts of $5 or more will count toward the LSU Giving Day 2023 goal of 5,000 donors giving by 11:59 p.m. Central on March 29. Donors can support one or more of the following LSU campuses from the secure geauxgive.lsu.edu site: LSU’s flagship campus in Baton Rouge, through the LSU Foundation, Tiger Athletic Foundation or LSU Alumni Association; LSU AgCenter; LSU of Alexandria; LSU Eunice; LSU Health Shreveport; LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center; and LSU Shreveport.
Alumni and friends throughout the country have committed nearly three dozen challenge gifts to encourage fellow LSU supporters to join them in giving. Achieving each challenge unlocks additional funding in support of LSU. Full details on challenges within each academic area are available on the site, along with free tools for supporters to use to promote Giving Day on their personal social media channels.
Participating campuses will share impact-focused content and progress updates via their social media accounts throughout the day. Progress in donor and dollar counts is available in real time on the Giving Day site, geauxgive.lsu.edu.
At universities nationwide, Giving Day is an annual opportunity for students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends to join together in making donations to support the areas of the university that are most meaningful to them. The 2023 event is LSU’s fifth Giving Day. In 2019, donors contributed more than $845,000. In 2020, in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, despite shifting Giving Day’s focus to lifting spirits, donors topped $1 million given to LSU in one day. During LSU Giving Day 2021, 4,205 donors gave nearly $2.1 million. Last year, LSU supporters broke that record, with 4,529 donors contributing $5.4 million. LSU Giving Day 2023 is the first to include LSU campuses statewide.
