BATON ROUGE – LSU and Chartwells Higher Ed have partnered to unveil the first SONIC Drive-In location on a college campus. Slated to open in late 2022, the new SONIC will offer counter service for take-away ordering and will replace the McDonald’s space in the LSU Student Union. These changes are a direct result of feedback from our students, faculty and staff who wanted a concept that would offer more variety to the campus community, while still being available at an affordable price point.

With hundreds of thousands of craveable flavors and drink combinations, including Limeades, Burgers, Hot Dogs and more; SONIC’s expansive, award-winning menu offers made-to-order and customizable breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack options to provide something for everyone.

“We are excited to be partnering with this popular brand in the LSU Student Union, as we do prioritize the constant review of our many offerings to ensure as much choice and variety as possible. We can’t wait to welcome Sonic to LSU,” said Margot Hsu Carroll, Assistant Vice President of LSU Auxiliary Services.
