For third year, digital advertising students win regional round of National Student Advertising Competition

For the third year in a row, digital-advertising students from LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication have won the regional round of the National Student Advertising Competition, held this year in Baton Rouge. The American Advertising Federation sponsors the contest, the most prestigious student competition in advertising.

The students will move on to the semi-finals in May, where 16 to 20 regional winners will be narrowed down to eight teams that will compete in the finals in New Orleans in June.

All of the competitors developed an integrated marketing campaign for Tai Pei frozen Asian foods, this year’s corporate client. The region in which LSU competes is made up of schools in Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee. Manship faculty member Yongick Jeong advised the LSU team.

The students who presented were Drake Boudreaux, a senior from Lafayette, LA; Caitlin Demarest, a senior from New Orleans, LA; Ashley Monaghan, a senior from New Orleans, LA;  and Warren Travers, a senior from Shreveport, LA. Other students were involved in behind-the-scenes work.
