
LSU School of Theatre Presents the
TAKE 12 Student Film Festival
Call for Entries / Submission Portal is Open!!!
The LSU School of Theatre and students of Theater 3740 (which is a course focused
on film festival organization) will be hosting the TAKE 12 Student Film Festival to
be held at the Shaver Theatre in the LSU’s Music and Dramatic Arts Building (MDA)
on Sunday May 3, 2026 from 2PM until 4PM.
The TAKE 12 Student Film Festival promotes and celebrates the films of students from
LSU and institutions of higher education from all over Louisiana.

Eligibility requirements for submission:
1. You must be a current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at LSU or any
Louisiana university, college, community college or technical college.
2. Films from students who graduated in the spring, summer or fall of 2025 from
any Louisiana institution of higher education are also welcome to submit.
3. Films must have been completed between January of 2025 and April of 2026.
4. Films that were previously submitted to Take 11, but not selected for screening
at the festival in 2025 may not resubmit.
5. Film must be between 2 minutes and no more than 13 minutes in length.
6. Film submissions are limited to 3 per person, please fill out and submit three
different times, not all in one.
Following the screenings, awards will be presented for the following 10 categories:
Best Picture
Best Actor
Best Supporting Actor
Best Sound
Best Cinematography
Best Editor
Best Production Design
Best Screenplay
Best Costumes
An Audience Award will be chosen live during the festival screening.
To enter, please complete the online application above and be sure include a link
to Vimeo or You Tube where your project can be viewed and downloaded.
Remember to include the password if the site is password protected. Upon completion
of your submission form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
The deadline to submit for screening consideration at Take 12 is April 13, 2026. The
submission portal will remain open and submissions will be accepted through April
17, 2026, but those received after April 17, 2026 are not guaranteed to be reviewed.
All submissions shall be made by completing the Online Submission Form.
If your film is selected for screening at the festival, you will be notified by April
27, 2026. You will then be required provide a festival ready copy of your film and
a digital poster for promotional purposes which will be due by April 29, 2026.
*Selected films that wish to be included in the judging for “Best Screenplay”, please
e-mail the screenplay directly to cstelly1@lsu.edu. Only films for screenplays received by the date of notification will be considered
for this award.
