Military Cyber Professionals Association to Award LSU Professor Order of Thor Medal

BATON ROUGE – LSU cybersecurity professor Ibrahim “Abe” Baggili is among an elite group of individuals selected by the Military Cyber Professionals Association to receive the prestigious Order of Thor medal this year. The medal is in recognition of Baggili’s meaningful and enduring contributions to the U.S. military cyber community.

“Dr. Baggili has directly supported American military cyber professionals for years, including close collaboration with the Military Cyber Professionals Association on cyber operations research. This community is appreciative of his impactful work and is taking this opportunity to recognize him.”

Baggili will receive this honor on May 18 at the association’s national convention in Maryland, which is not far from the headquarters of U.S. Cyber Command. Baggili will also be presenting at the convention, known as HammerCon, alongside numerous notable scholars and leaders in the broader military cyber community of interest.

The Order of Thor medal has been presented to cyber professionals since 2013. The majority of recipients are members of the U.S. military.
