How to Register for LSU Summer School Courses

January 19, 2024

Summer is the perfect time to turn free time into degree credits.

Whether you choose in-person or online summer classes, a study abroad program, summer internship, or research program for credit, registering for a summer course for credit takes just a few simple steps.

Step 1: Find a class you would like to take by exploring the LSU Course Offerings page.

Step 2: Under semester/year, choose “Summer 2024.”

Step 3:  To find a specific course, choose a department. Here, you will also find courses separated into the following summer sessions:

  • Long Session courses, which is all summer (May 28-August 10, 2024)
  • Session B courses, offered May 28, 2024 – June 29, 2024
  • Session C courses, offered July 8, 2024 – August 10, 2024.

(If you are only interested in courses offered in an online format visit the Strategize your Summer webpage for a list of summer online course offerings.)

Step 4: To ensure that you are taking the right course that will fulfill requirements for your degree program, check with your academic advisor beforehand. Use the Navigate Student platform on the web or through the mobile app to schedule.

Step 5: As a current LSU student, you can register for the summer course(s) you would like to take using myLSU. If you have any issues registering for your summer course(s), contact your academic advisor for assistance.

Step 6: After you have registered through myLSU, you will receive a fee bill in late April. To keep the courses you scheduled, you must pay your tuition and fees by the published date on the fee bill.

Step 7: After paying your fee bill using the various payment options available, ensure that the registration is complete by returning to your fee bill in myLSU. You should see a message at the top of the page that states, “Your registration for the selected semester is complete. See Billing Statement under Financial Services for your account balance.”

Not an LSU student? That is okay. Apply today and talk with an advisor to get on the path to course registration.
