Celebrating Every LSU Win Together

Dear Campus Community,

A stellar first week of classes concluded with a tremendous season-opening victory over Clemson, a strong start for a team with immense potential. That same spirit of possibility defines our newest Tigers. As we welcome one of the most accomplished freshman classes in LSU history, including more than 450 valedictorians and a full quarter graduating in the top 10% of their high school class, we are reminded that excellence takes many forms.

At LSU, academic and athletic excellence are not separate pursuits; they share the same spirit, drive, and commitment. The passion (purple) and excellence (gold) we bring to one area inspire and elevate the other. Whether in classrooms, labs, studios, or on the field, We Build Teams That Win by advancing research, educating future leaders, and competing at the highest levels.

Success in athletics brings national visibility, which helps us attract top students, faculty, and researchers who want to be part of a university that strives to win in everything we do. When they arrive, they feel the energy, pride, and determination that define what it means to be a Tiger.

Whether in academics or athletics, our pursuit of excellence is relentless. In every field of endeavor, we play to win, and we only win as a team.

As we move further into the fall semester, I invite you to celebrate every LSU victory, both on the field and beyond. Cheer for our football team and, just as importantly, for our students, faculty, and staff as they chase their passions and push boundaries in ways only LSU Tigers can.
