LSU Foundation Welcomes Rhoman Hardy to Board of Directors

Rhoman HardyBATON ROUGE —The LSU Foundation Board of Directors has named LSU alumnus Rhoman Hardy of Baton Rouge to a four-year term as director. 

“Rhoman is an established leader in the energy industry with strong ties to both Louisiana and Texas,” said Board Chairperson Frank W. “Billy” Harrison III. “He has extensive professional expertise in an area in which many of our alumni work, and he brings a valuable perspective as a graduate of the LSU College of Engineering and parent of two current LSU students. We are fortunate and grateful to welcome Rhoman to the board as we work to advance LSU’s culture of philanthropy and strengthen its industry partnerships in a wide range of fields.”

About Rhoman Hardy
Hardy is senior vice president for the U.S. Gulf Coast manufacturing locations for Shell Oil Company. A native of Lake Charles, La., Hardy began his career with Shell in 1988. In addition to his roles of increasing responsibility within Shell’s manufacturing business, Hardy has experience working in Shell’s distribution and pipeline business overseeing technical activities for a portion of the U.S. He worked in global assignments for more than 5 years, during which time he and his team were accountable for improving operational excellence at Shell’s global manufacturing sites. 

Hardy earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the LSU College of Engineering in 1991 and an Executive MBA from Rice University in Houston. He and wife, Jolene, have two sons, both of whom are current students at LSU.

In addition to his service on the LSU Foundation Board of Directors, Hardy is part of the LSU College of Engineering’s Dean’s Advisory Council. He serves on Louisiana’s Community and Technical Colleges Board of Supervisors, a role to which he was appointed by Gov. John Bel Edwards January 2020, and on the boards of the Louisiana Chemical Association (current member and past chairman), Shell Pension and Provident Fund Trust and Baton Rouge Area Chamber. He is a former board member of the Baton Rouge Arts Council and Capital Area United Way.
