RESIDENTIAL LIFE
We Make Campus Feel Like Home
The LSU Department of Residential Life makes campus home for students. Across more than 3 million square feet of intentional living spaces, Residential Life creates communities and living-learning experiences that support students during the 153 hours they spend outside the classroom each week — so they're ready to excel inside it. As part of LSU's Division of Student Affairs, Residential Life is committed to quality, care, and belonging, ensuring every space and interaction communicates a sense of home to every Tiger.
Shorter, more casual version:
The LSU Department of Residential Life makes campus home for every Tiger, creating intentional communities and living-learning experiences across more than 3 million square feet to support students during the 153 hours they spend outside the classroom each week. And we think that starts with a good night's rest.
Incorporating the LSU Division of Student Affairs' priorities:
The LSU Department of Residential Life makes campus home for every Tiger — creating intentional communities, designing living-learning experiences with everyone in mind, and delivering the care, polish, and attention to detail that LSU students deserve across more than 3 million square feet of on-campus living.
LSU Division of Student Affairs' Priorities
Three priorities guide our work in the Division of Student Affairs: community, connection, and quality.
These are aspirational, and we are in the initial stages of grappling with how best to pursue them. However, we believe that when we view everything we do through these lenses, we will be more adept at serving students next year than we were last year.
We believe creating a sense of community requires us to ensure every space, place, and interaction communicates to a student that they are home. Being connection in our work means it is our duty to design programs, services, events, and experiences with everyone in mind.
Finally, a commitment to quality is rooted in the belief that LSU students deserve our best effort. Every interaction we have with them should communicate care, relevance, polish, and attention to detail.
