LSU ME Assistant Professor Awarded Young Investigator Award by USAF

Ope OwoyeleLSU Mechanical Engineering Assistant Professor Ope Owoyele was recently awarded the Air Force Office of Scientific Research Young Investigator Award, which supports individual early-in-career scientists and engineers who have received a PhD or equivalent degree and show exceptional ability and promise for conducting basic research.

According to the Air Force Young Investigator Research Program website, the program fosters creative basic research in science and engineering; enhances early career development of outstanding young investigators; and increases opportunities for the young investigator to recognize the Air Force and Space Force mission and related challenges in science and engineering.

Owoyele’s award is for $450,000 over three years.
