Digital Logic Lab
EE 2741 Digital Logic I, EE 2742 Digital Logic II
Location: Room: PFT 2246
The Digital Logic Lab provides hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and testing of combinational and sequential logic circuits. Equipped with workstations that allow the students to work with logic gates, flip flops, counters and registers. They use logic analyzers and computer software for testing their circuits.
The lab reinforces the ideas taught in the digital logic courses (EE 2741, EE 2742), including through the use of a hardware description language (Verilog). These are the first courses on combinational and sequential logic analysis and design.
Lab Experiment Topics Include:
- Combinational and sequential logic design
- Delay and timing in combinational and sequential logic
- Using Verilog with the Basys3 FPGA board
- Testing and testbenches
- Projects: Topics vary by semester and typically include the design of a controller for applications such as an elevator, traffic intersection, or vending machine.
