Abstract –

Information diffusion dynamics have accelerated, and the sociological effects are visible. Viral TikTok trends, funny memes, misinformation, and even online extremism owe much of their recent increases to our changing information landscape. In my research and this talk, we explore ways information dynamics have changed, how we can investigate those dynamics using machine learning, and how we can use what we learn to mitigate potential harm.
