Monique Breaux, MLIS

 

Biography

Monique Breaux is an educator and information professional specializing in information literacy, data analysis, and learning management systems. In previous years, she served as an adjunct faculty member across multiple institutions, including Drexel University, Capella University, and Louisiana State University (LSU).

Prior to her current roles, Breaux accumulated operational experience across the private sector, state government, academic libraries, and public libraries. Her work predominantly focuses on leveraging data to drive institutional decision-making within higher education. Utilizing data extracted from learning management systems (Blackboard, Canvas, and Moodle) she has collaborated with university leadership to transform and elevate faculty training and student outcomes.

In her teaching role within the undergraduate Digital Studies minor, Breaux engages directly with emerging student perspectives on current events and the rapidly evolving digital landscape. Her goal is to help shape the next generation of digital users as they navigate a complex information ecosystem.

Breaux’s scholarly research and academic focus examine the societal and systemic impacts of the digital environment:

• The evolution of community participation styles within the modern digital landscape
