Dr. Paul Manthei has over 20 years of experience as an educator. After teaching high
school and middle school English for seven years, Dr. Manthei earned his PhD in Educational
Leadership & Research from LSU. Employed at LSU since 2003, his teaching experience
includes serving as Instructor and Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in
areas related to teacher education and higher education administration. Dr. Manthei’s
leadership roles include Interim Coordinator of the Office of Professional Experiences,
Assistant to the Director of the School of Education, Interim Superintendent of the
University Laboratory School, Graduate Advisor for the online MA in Higher Education
Administration Program, and as Director of Logistics for Online and Continuing Education
Partnerships for the College of Human Sciences & Education for the past six years.
He has also served on the LSU Faculty Senate. Dr. Manthei’s interests include issues
related to student success and online education. He enjoys working with students in
online education because it gives students, who otherwise may not have access to education,
an opportunity to continue their education and pursue their academic and professional
goals.
