The American Association of University Women (AAUW) awarded its 2022-23 Research Publication Grant in Engineering, Medicine and Science to Weishan Huang, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in Immunology in the Department of Pathobiology Sciences at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.

Jeremy Delcambre, DVM (LSU 2009), will join the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine as assistant professor of anatomy in July 2022. Dr. Delcambre previously served as assistant professor at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CSU CVM).

Gretchen Henry Delcambre, DVM (LSU 2009), will join the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine as director of veterinary outreach and admissions in July 2022.

On Monday, June 27, the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine’s new Stephenson Pet Clinic (SPC) started receiving patients. The clinic is located adjacent to the LSU Vet Med building on Skip Bertman Drive in Baton Rouge and now serves as the LSU Vet Med Veterinary Teaching Hospital entrance for our small animal patients.

The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine is pleased to announce that Tammy Dugas, PhD, has been named the new associate dean for research and graduate education.

Twenty students are participating in the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine Veterinary Summer Scholars Program, an introduction to biomedical research through research-driven activities.

LSU School of Veterinary Medicine has activated a plan to nearly double its entering class size to 200 students by 2024 and to expand the veterinary services it offers in response to the growing need for veterinary care.

In 2022, the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine gave out $232,950 in scholarships and awards. Students received monetary awards, memberships to professional organizations, journal subscriptions, plaques, certificates and veterinary medicine manuals and supplies.

The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine welcomes Bunnie Cannon as Senior Director of Outreach and Strategic Initiatives.

The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine conferred eight advanced degrees on May 20, 2022.
