Become a Studio Mentor
LSU CxC is continuously looking for students of all majors interested in becoming Communication Peer Mentors. What’s that you ask? Well, let us tell you!
Peer Mentors work within CxC’s Studios across campus to help students learn how to become better written, spoken, visual, and technological communicators. Mentors can specialize in one or more communication areas, serve in customized roles, and have the opportunity to focus on their discipline. For example, you might want to be a writing mentor for science students, an oral presentation mentor for art students, a poster design mentor for engineering students, or some combination of these. Mentors primarily coach students working on class projects, but may also help students seeking assistance with communication-based extracurricular curricular projects, such as building a webpage for a student organization.
CxC Mentors are just that--mentors. They do not do work for other students. Instead, they help students learn and apply effective communication skills. It’s a fun and rewarding job where you help others while also improving your own communication skills, not to mention it looks great on a resume!
All majors and all classifications are eligible, so if you’re interested, fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch to see if you’re a good fit!
