LSU President Wade Rousse announces the retirement of LSUA Chancellor Paul Coreil effective July 1, 2026, after 13 years in the role and more than 43 years of outstanding service in the LSU system.

President Wade Rousse is sharing an ambitious path forward for the LSU system with a vision for elevating the way LSU educates Louisiana. Speaking before the Board of Supervisors during their February meeting, Rousse emphasized that to be among the nation's top 50 research institutions LSU must grow its research dollars, improve its facilities and set admissions standards that "reflect our ambition for excellence."

Across the LSU system, top scientists are advancing brain health research that helps people protect memory, detect disease earlier, and live better with neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Metabolism plays a central role in both heart and brain health, influencing how organs use energy and resist disease. LSU Health Shreveport research highlights how metabolic function affects cardiovascular and neurological well-being and could open doors to new prevention and treatment strategies.

LSU President Wade Rousse has named Meg Casper Sunstrom to serve as Chief Communications Officer of the LSU System. Sunstrom, who will begin her new role on February 18th, most recently served as the Chief Communications Officer for the Louisiana State Legislature.
