Our Expertise
The LSU Equine Internal Medicine service is led by board-certified veterinary specialists who are diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and our veterinary residents with advanced training in large animal internal medicine. We also have team of veterinary interns, technicians and clinical students who work together to provide comprehensive, advanced medical care for horses in the inpatient and outpatient hospital setting. Our faculty clinicians also have expertise in subspecialties such as gastroenterology, pulmonology, infectious disease, neurology, cardiology and endocrinology. Our faculty work closely with other specialist at LSU such as ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology, radiology, neurology, oncology and clinical pathology to provide the most advanced care for your horse. This care is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including nights, weekend and holidays. Our team constantly strives to provide leading-edge and compassionate care for horses while providing you with excellent and timely service.

What to Expect
- Our Large Animal Hospital has room for trailers to pull up adjacent to our barn and outpatient paddocks.
- We will come out to get your horse and lead it into the barn.
- Once the examination is complete, we will discuss the diagnosis and treatment options with you.
