Run a 5K while supporting the LSU Vet Med Good Samaritan fund
April 17, 2026
The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine’s Wellness Committee and Hill’s Pet Nutrition host the Hill’s Great Rover Road Run (#LSUGRRR2026), an annual 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk that promotes health and wellness for people and their four-legged friends all while raising money for the LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital's Good Samaritan Fund. This is a fun and exciting event for all involved. Your pets can participate in the race too! All race registrations, proceeds and donations benefit the Good Samaritan Fund, which helps homeless animals in need of medical care.
GRRR will take place Saturday, April 25 at 8 a.m. along the levee near LSU Vet Med (corner of Skip Bertman Drive and River Road). Everyone who registers for the in-person race before April 10 will receive a free race shirt!
In-Person and Virtual Participation
Can’t make it in person? No problem! In-person or virtual attendance is available, both options having a $25 registration fee.
Time
5K begins at 8 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run/walk begins at 9:30 a.m.
The 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will be along the River Road levee, across from LSU Vet Med on Skip Bertman Drive. Pets are welcome but must be leashed and courteous to people and other pets. For the safety of all participants, we reserve the right to ask pet owners to leave if their pets do not meet the requirements previously stated above.
A special thank you to Hill's Pet Nutrition for their support.
