LSU Vet Med offers Dog Daycare for LSU community and the Baton Rouge public

May 21, 2025

The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine has a Dog Daycare that is open to the public, welcoming not only dogs belonging to staff, students and faculty at LSU but also extending its services to all dog owners in the Greater Baton Rouge area. The center is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays.

The facility has two outdoor fenced yards with shade canopies and indoor kennels. The daily schedule begins with breakfast and potty walks followed by one-on-one and group play activities with staff and dogs. Then comes lunch, indoor activities such as puzzle toys, and lick mats, and potty walks. Afternoons bring outdoor activities, including a wading pool and splash pads, more play time, followed by potty walks, and individual kennel time for rest and naps. Spa baths, nail trimming, and shedding treatments are available. Basic training services are also available.

The LSU Vet Med Dog Daycare is open to all dog owners, irrespective of their affiliation with LSU. For enrollment information, facility tours, and pricing details, please visit lsu.edu/vetmed/dog_daycare or contact the daycare at (225) 334-1312.
