Dr. Bordelon received his BS in Animal Science from LSU in 1998 and his DVM from LSU Vet Med in 2002. He completed a small animal surgery and medicine internship at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003, where he also completed his small animal surgery residency in 2006. He then joined the faculty at Oklahoma State as an assistant professor before returning to Louisiana to work as an associate surgeon in private practice. Dr. Bordelon has returned to his alma mater to help in the development of a robust small animal surgery program along with one of his former residents Alissa St. Blanc, DVM (LSU 2015), DACVS. His major surgical and teaching focus is centered in small animal orthopedics, minimally invasive surgical techniques, implant design, computer-aided and virtual surgical planning, total joint replacement, and pedagogy. His goals are to expand the diversity of surgical techniques offered at the VTH, expand surgery faculty numbers, and to provide more teaching opportunities for students, interns, and residents.
