Research Translation Core

Dr. Maud Walsh, Core Leader and Ms. Jen Irving, Coordinator

The Research Translation Core is responsible for communicating research findings to a variety of audiences, including the general public, health and environmental professionals, regulatory agencies, businesses, and other researchers.

The goal of research translation is to ensure that the program’s research is appropriately applied to current environmental and health issues and, in particular, to the effective management of thermal treatment of Superfund wastes to minimize and control exposure and risk.  Plans for keeping stakeholders are informed about research findings and implications  include publication of a website and factsheets, coordination of workshops and symposia, linkages to science teacher professional education programs and to undergraduate science education, and establishment of a technology transfer plan.
