Advanced Process Analysis System
The Advanced Process Analysis System is a powerful tool for use by process and plant engineers to perform comprehensive and in-depth evaluations of economic and environmental projects. This system combines on-line optimization, chemical reactor analysis, pinch analysis, pollution index evaluation and process flowsheeting in one interactive windows program.
On-line optimization is an effective method for economic improvement and waste reduction in chemical plants and petroleum refineries. It is an automated system that adjust the operation of a plant based on product scheduling and production control to maximize profit and minimize emissions by providing optimal set points to the distributed control system.
The Heat Exchanger Network (THEN)
The Heat Exchanger Network(THEN) program is used to minimize the use of utilities by increasing energy recovery within the process. It synthesizes a heat exchanger network that is feasible and has a low investment cost. This program is based on the method of thermodynamic pinch analysis.
Pollution Assessment Program
The pollution index program is a pollution prevention and measurement module which can be used to assess the environmental impact of chemical and refinery processes. It is based on the pollution index methodology of EPA. It identifies the sources of pollutant generation in plants and can be used to compare the performance of different chemical processes.
Reactor Analysis Program (ReaCat)
ReaCat is a comprehensive tool for reactor analysis. ReaCat, is to be used to evaluate and analyze multi-phase and catalytic reactors to suggest to the plant and process engineers the best reactor type and operating conditions. It uses interactive windows for data input and the results are presented in graphical or tabular format.
Chemical Complex Analysis System
The Chemical Complex Analysis Systemt has been developed and used to demonstrate optimization of a chemical complex. The System incorporates economic, environmental and sustainable costs. and solves a MINLP for the best configuration of plants. It incorporates a Pollution Index methodology to identify sources of pollution generation which targeted for reduction.
