Spanish, New course in high school in China (From La Vanguardia)

The Spanish Royal Academy (RAE) wants to participate in the explosion of Spanish that will came in the near future in China. The Academy has inaugurated its first Center for the Study of the Spanish Language at the University of Shanghai. This is the result of the incorporation of Spanish as part of the curriculum in the Chinese high School.

ELAN For Linguistics Workshop

This workshop is intended for faculty only. The workshop is an event jointly organized by the Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures and the Linguistics program to learn how to use ELAN to annotate and transcribe audio or video recordings. Dr. Carmela Mattza Received the Tiger Athletic Foundation Undergraduate Teaching Award

Dr. Carmela Mattza, Associate Professor of Spanish, was selected to be a recipient of the Tiger Athletic Foundation Undergraduate Teaching Award, which recognizes faculty with an excellent record in undergraduate teaching. The award was judged by an HSS Faculty Senate Committee.
